Pepper Denise Reed

Joined Mary’s Center Board in April 2023.
As a distinguished resident of Washington, DC, Pepper Denise Reed relocated from Madison, Alabama in 2012. She has extensive experience in a wide range of industries, including education, retail, telecommunications, utilities/energy, as well as being a courtroom clerk in the Family Court Division since 2020. She currently serves on the Hospitality Committee of the DC Superior Courts.
Her passion and love for people began as a child, which fuels Pepper’s commitment to serve and leave each person in a better position than when she first encountered them, through her optimistic and positive attitude. It is her goal to volunteer in various nonprofit organizations in the DMV area. She has been a member of the Junior League of Washington DC since 2020 and she is a forever student. Pepper is currently pursuing a degree in Legal Communication Strategic Management at Howard University, while also minoring in Criminology and Community Development. An associate degree in Legal Assistant studies was earned by her at the University of the District of Columbia.
Pepper is an advocate for quality housing and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to live out their dreams. She understands the importance of quality housing for the communities we serve.
With her previous memberships on DCPS’ Community Engagement Council as well as her current roles as Vice Chair of Mary’s Center Community Engagement Council and OSSE’s Policy Counsel, Pepper continues to demonstrate her commitment to serving and empowering the community.
Her long-term goal is to become a lawyer and a judge, and to devote her energy and resources to serving her community.
Pepper is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Mary’s Center since she is passionate about the organization’s mission.
