Paul J. Doherty joined the Mary Center’s team in August 2013. Dr. Doherty was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya and Tanzania. He worked at Whitman-Walker, an LGBTQ+ and HIV-focused healthcare organization in Washington D.C. While he counts himself lucky to see a rich diversity of patients and families at Mary’s Center, he is particularly welcoming to LGBTQ+ patients and families, or those who have questions about those issues. (LGBTQI stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex.) In his free time, he patronizes the Petworth Neighborhood Library, tries to make it to yoga class, and thinks up new and fantastic travel plans.
