Inner City Youth Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day in Shenandoah National Park Washington D.C. June 16, 2011

On Saturday morning, two dozen teenagers excitedly boarded a motor coach in front of Mary's Center, a nonprofit that provides healthcare, education and social services to in-need families in the Washington D.C. area, for an eye opening field trip to Shenandoah National Park. Mary's Center Hosted Grand Opening Ceremony of New Site in Ward 4 Washington, DC - May 18, 2011

Mary's Center, a community health center established 23 years ago in Washington, DC, celebrated the Grand Opening ceremony of its fourth regional site and the largest of all in the Petworth area of DC. HHS awards $4.9 million to support families of children with special health care needs HHS News Room May 17, 2011

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today announced $4.9 million in new and continuing grants to support the Family-to-Family Health Information Centers, primarily non-profit organizations run by and for families with children with special health care needs. Funding for the centers was extended through 2012 by the Affordable Care Act. Mary's Center was awarded a grant with Adovcates for Justice and Education, Inc. More>>

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation's largest children's literacy organization selected Education Strengthens Families Public Charter School to receive a $2500 special literacy grant to host a Family Reading Celebration event for its students and their families.
