NCLR (National Council of La Raza) will present the 2011 Affiliate of the Year Award to Mary's Center, an organization dedicated to improving access to comprehensive bilingual care for low-income, uninsured pregnant women and their children. Mary's Center will be recognized on July 26, 2011 at the 2011 NCLR Annual Conference Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Inner City Youth Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day in Shenandoah National Park Washington D.C. June 16, 2011

On Saturday morning, two dozen teenagers excitedly boarded a motor coach in front of Mary's Center, a nonprofit that provides healthcare, education and social services to in-need families in the Washington D.C. area, for an eye opening field trip to Shenandoah National Park. Mary's Center, a community health center established 23 years ago in Washington, DC, celebrated the Grand Opening ceremony of its fourth regional site and the largest of all in the Petworth area of DC. Their Key partners, government officials, Ward 4 residents, supporters and friends joined Mary's Center at this celebration. Redskins Quarterback Donovan McNabb was among the special guests.
