Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs

Strong Start DC Early Intervention Program at Mary's Center provides education, service coordination, advocacy, psychosocial support, and home visits for parents of children up to three years old with disabilities or developmental delays and who are eligible for the District of Columbia's Strong Start DC Early Intervention Program (DC EIP).

Services are designed to meet the needs of the child. DC EIP provides a variety of services such as occupational, physical and speech/language therapy, as well as special instruction, vision, and audiology (hearing) services.

Early intervention services may also include services for the family designed to assist in the child's development.  We help all families enroll their children in daycare, preschool, or public school programs, and link participants with community resources.
