Nina Albert uses her expertise in economic development, sustainability, and strategic communications to achieve impactful, community-based solutions. She is the Director of Real Estate and Station Planning at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), with responsibility for joint development, asset management, and station planning. Prior to joining WMATA, Nina worked for Walmart, cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with community and other external stakeholders. She also worked for the Government of the District of Columbia, advancing the District’s economic development priorities, which included a $250 million energy efficiency incentive program, oversight of the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative to restore and revitalize the Anacostia River, and development of the Southwest Waterfront Wharf. Nina is a veteran and served as an officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. She received her Master of Business Administration and Master of Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, and her Bachelor of Science from Tufts University. She joined the Mary's Center Board of Directors in 2012 and currently serves as its Chair.
